PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz on Thursday vowed not to bow down before injustice and vote thieves, as she launched her campaign in Gilgit-Baltistan for the upcoming regional elections scheduled for November 15, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The decision would come in favour of Nawaz Sharif if votes were not stolen, Maryam said during a public meeting at Gamba in Skardu – the first in a series of rallies planned by the party during her stay in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Entire Pakistan was going to see the backlash in case the vote was snatched away, the PML-N leader warned.
Referring to the announcement that the PTI government will give the region interim status of province soon, Maryam said, “The promise to create the Gilgit-Baltistan province is a fraud. Everyone knows,” and added that the bogus prime minister came and went away after making the announcement about the province.

“The prime minister himself is on the payroll of someone else,” she remarked, addressing the charged crowd, as she appeared for a political event in the region for the first time.
“The time has come to send this person making false promises back home,” she remarked and added that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan would start the process.
Blasting Prime Minister Imran Khan and his earlier claim that he won’t spare anyone, the PML-N leader said the one giving threats would be out of the government soon.
Maryam asked the crowd whether anyone of got a house as Imran had promised five million new homes and if any youngster of Skardu was able to get employment. “The government doesn’t know that the people are dying for bread.”
Asking the people to promise that they won’t vote for the turncoats leaving the PML-N, she maintained, “The one stabbing in the back of the party does not deserve [your] vote.”
“The politics of Pakistan has changed and it should change,” said Maryam who assured the people of reflecting their voice. “I have come here with gratitude from Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif for you,” she said and noted, “Nawaz Sharif gave your right to you.”
Later in the day, addressing a rally at Ghawari in Ghanche, Maryam asked the people to guard their votes on the polling day and said no one should be allowed to trample upon the public mandate.
She said those who could not face pressure did not deserve the people’s vote and must be rejected in the upcoming elections as they could not serve the masses.
She started her speech in the local language by exchanging greetings with the audience and said nine candidates of the party had been forced to switch their loyalties, but they could not change the people’s opinion.
Earlier, the PML-N has released the schedule of the PML-N vice-president’s visit as she will address gathering in Skardu on November 6 and Dambu Das on November 7, Gahkuch on November 8, Astore on November 10 and Chilas on November 11.
The PML-N workers were excited to receive their party leader as former Chief Minister of Gilgit Baltistan Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman had also planned a dinner in honour of Maryam Nawaz.
The TV channel reported that Maryam Nawaz will address public gatherings and highlight the PML-N’s five-year public service projects and development.
The party has also planned a public rally from Shigar to Skardu on November 6.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had been in Gilgit Baltistan running a robust campaign since October 21.
In his speeches, Bilawal has mainly targeted Prime Minister Imran Khan for his false promises and requested the GB people to use the power of ballot in favour of teer (Arrow, PPP’s election symbol).
It would be interesting to see now how Bilawal Bhutto and Maryam Nawaz will canvass GB voters to cast their ballots only for their party without targeting each other.
