PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday asked the people to take the money being distributed by the PTI ministers but vote for the Arrow – his party’s election symbol, as he warned against the attempts to rig the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly polls to be held on November 15, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a rally in Astore, Bilawal asked the Gilgit-Baltistan chief election commissioner (CEC) to explain his meetings with the government ministers in Islamabad and said attempts were being made to rig the Gilgit-Baltistan elections.
Instead of protecting the election process in the region, the CEC was defending the actions and interference by Prime Minister Imran Khan and other federal cabinet members, said Bilawal.
He was criticising CEC Raja Shahbaz for his press conference yesterday in which he had accused the PPP chairman of violating the election code of conduct.
Bilawal said they had been campaigning for the Gilgit-Baltistan elections in a democratic manner but the rival puppet PTI was in the government but didn’t have people with them.

Talking about the visits of Imran and government members to the region, he questioned where they had been for the last two years.
Why they were able to recall the existence of Gilgit-Baltistan only at the time of elections, Bilawal said, blasting the PTI for announcing projects for the region as part of the efforts to influence the process.
The PTI was distributing money but the people of Gilgit-Baltistan were not for sale, remarked Bilawal.
About the future status of the region, the PPP chairman said they would not only form the province but also defend the local population’s rights. The subsidy on wheat would stay with the people being exempted from taxes, he promised.
On the other hand, Bilawal warned, the PTI government would try to snatch their rights in the name provincial status. The province had to be formed but where Imran was still only thinking about that and would continue doing so, he remarked.
The puppet prime minister came on a visit and claimed that he was not announcing a special package because of elections, but he neither gave anything to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa nor to even Mianwali, said Bilawal.
“You did not give package in the past and you will not give any package in future too.”
