In order to ensure non-stop supply of wheat for human consumption, the Punjab government on Wednesday extended the imposition of section 144 in the province by another 30 days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As per the notification issued by the secretary home department, wheat would only be used at flour mills, and not in the feed mills during the above-mentioned period.
The ban would remain in place until December1.
Presently, feed mills in the province have over 100,000 metric tonnes of wheat stock.
According to a report by the secretary price control, wheat is an important component of human diet, which should be used in the production of flour.
A direction has been given in the notification that the order should be spread to the people through official gazette, newspapers and other means of mass communication.
