Notorious dacoit Umar alias Jagga, who was involved in more than 20 criminal cases, was gunned down during an encounter with police in Gujranwala on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Crime Control Department (CCD) sources said that a team of CCD established a check-post and signalled three persons who were riding a motorcycle to stop, but instead they started firing on the CCD team indiscriminately.
During heavy exchange of firing, dacoit Umar alias Jagga received serious bullet shots and died on the spot.
It is necessary to mention here that a few days earlier, Umar alias Jagga opened fire on a citizen, after which the citizen became injured in the People's Colony area of Gujranwala.
