Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz had a digital tour of different departments of the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research Center (NSICT&R) and expressed satisfaction over the pace of construction work, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research is steadily heading towards its completion.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed that the construction work be carried out in three shifts.
Maryam Nawaz inspected state-of-the-at sitting room and AHU room of the hospital.
The Cancer Institute will have paediatric oncology, operating theatres,10 radiation therapy bunkers, ICU, and a 30-bed emergency ward.
A waiting hall and 24 beds will also be built for the patients. The main building will house a bone-marrow center, cancer care clinic, doctors’ residences, and a mosque in the first phase.
A new building with 300 beds and a parking plaza will also be built in the second phase. Radiation therapy, chemotherapy, endoscopy, and other facilities will be available in the first government cancer hospital.
During the briefing, the Chief Minister was told that 329 vacant posts were announced Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research, out of which 32 candidates were selected.
She was further informed that an advertisement for 415 vacant posts in the hospital will be published next week.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed the appointment of a dean, director, and other posts in the hospital.
