Rawalpindi police have arrested a man accused of repeatedly raping a 15-year-old girl in the Waris Khan Police precincts, following the registration of a case on the complaint of the victim’s mother.
According to the police and the text of the first information report (FIR), the accused, identified as Bilal, was known to the family and used to visit the victim’s house. During this time, he allegedly subjected the minor to repeated sexual assault.
The victim’s mother stated in her complaint that her daughter’s health deteriorated, after which she was taken to the hospital. Her medical examination revealed that the girl was pregnant. Police said the victim was around seven months pregnant at the time and has given birth to a baby girl.
Officials confirmed that the 15-year-old victim is currently in critical condition at the hospital.
The case was registered at Waris Khan Police Station, where the victim’s parents had initially submitted an application seeking legal action against the accused.
Police said they acted immediately after receiving the complaint, registered a case and then arrested the accused. The accused
will now be challaned in the court on the basis of evidence.
Commenting on the incident, Rawal SP Saad Arshad said the police had zero-tolerance policy towards abuse or harassment of women and children.
