A two-week bilateral counter-terrorism exercise titled Pakistan–Egypt Joint Exercise Thunder-II has commenced between the armies of Pakistan and Egypt, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Monday.
The exercise began on April 6, 2026, at the Special Operations School, Cherat. Troops from the Special Services Group of the Pakistan Army and the Special Forces of the Egyptian Army are taking part in the drills.
The Commandant of the Special Operations School, Cherat, attended the opening ceremony as the chief guest.
According to ISPR, the exercise aims to enhance professional skills through joint training and to further strengthen longstanding military-to-military relations between the two friendly countries. Participating troops will also benefit from the exchange of mutual experiences and expertise, particularly in conducting counter-terrorism operations.
