Afghan citizen cardholders given deadline of Sept 1 to leave Pakistan Taking a final decision on the repatriation of Afghan citizen cardholders, Pakistan has given them the deadline of September 1 to leave the country, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The federal government officials have said that now only 26 days are left to the expiry of the deadline.
They have further said that the Afghans, possessing citizen cards, will have to leave Pakistan.
However, they have added that the Afghans returning to their homes will not be mistreated and arrangements will be made for the provision of food and health facilities to them.
The officials have informed that instructions have been issued to the concerned officials to make arrangements for the deportation of these Afghans.
Similarly, they have said, the Afghans have also been requested to leave the country voluntarily so that any unpleasant incident could be prevented.
Pakistan has already sent the Afghan refugees living illegally in the country back to their homes in phases.
Pakistan did this despite calls by the international community to show mercy to the Afghans and allow them to prolong their stay in the country.
