Pakistani social media influencer Ali Arif has sparked fresh debate after publicly criticizing Lock Up Season 2, describing it as "the most scripted show ever."
In a video shared on Instagram, the influencer questioned the show's elimination process, jury decisions, and finale, arguing that several parts of the competition appeared unfair from a viewer's perspective.
Alongside the video, Ali Arif wrote the caption, "Most scripted show ever!!" The clip also displayed the words "Highly Scripted Show," making his opinion on the programmed clear from the outset.
Speaking in the video, Ali argued that one of the biggest flaws in the show was the involvement of guest judges who appeared only briefly but were still given the power to save contestants from elimination.
He questioned how people who had not witnessed the contestants' full journey throughout the competition could make such important decisions.
He also criticized another segment of the show in which contestants could reveal personal secrets and still remain safe from elimination. Ali described the twist as confusing and questioned how it added value to the competition.
The influencer further criticized the show's buzzer system, claiming there were moments when one contestant pressed the buzzer but another contestant's secret was revealed. According to him, this made the format difficult to follow and left viewers confused about how the game actually worked.
Ali's biggest criticism was directed at the grand finale. He questioned why the final rankings were decided by a jury instead of through a performance-based challenge. In his view, the finalists should have competed in a task or game that clearly determined the winner based on merit rather than leaving the outcome entirely in the hands of a panel.
He added that after viewers had followed the contestants' journeys throughout the season, the winner should have been decided through fair competition instead of a final jury decision. According to Ali, a challenge-based finale would have been a more satisfying conclusion for both contestants and viewers.
