Veteran Pakistani actor Tauseeq Haider has heaped praise on Ahsan Khan, applauding the star for refusing to let his striking looks limit his acting career. Haider commended Ahsan's willingness to take on challenging and unconventional roles, calling him one of the industry's most dedicated performers.
Taking to Instagram, Tauseeq Haider shared a candid video in which he explained that many actors become trapped by their attractive appearance, choosing only glamorous roles that preserve their on-screen image. According to him, Ahsan Khan has done the exact opposite.
He said that despite being one of Pakistan's most handsome actors, Ahsan never allowed his appearance to become a "handicap" in his career.
"There is one actor in Pakistan's drama and film industry who never let his good looks become his handicap, and that actor is Ahsan Khan. Many actors who are exceptionally good-looking only want polished, glamorous roles. But Ahsan has proved that an actor must completely immerse himself in the character."
Tauseeq highlighted Ahsan Khan's fearless role choices, recalling his chilling performance as a child abuser in the critically acclaimed drama Udaari and his ongoing portrayal in HUM TV's Aap Ki Izzat.
In Aap Ki Izzat, Ahsan Khan plays a layered and emotionally conflicted man whose personal decisions create tension within his family. His character's struggle between love, responsibility and societal expectations has become one of the central arcs of the drama.
The veteran actor particularly praised a recent emotional sequence between Ahsan Khan and veteran actress Sania Saeed, in which Ahsan's character seeks his mother's permission for a second marriage.
"Oh my God, that scene between Sania Saeed and Ahsan Khan was incredible. Their eyes, the pauses, and the way they completely became their characters it was outstanding. Watching Sania's character, you don't even know whether to be angry with her or sympathize with her."
Tauseeq Haider also credited acclaimed director Saife Hassan for bringing out the finest performances from his cast. He said a truly great director gives actors the freedom to perform while guiding them toward their best work, adding that this balance is clearly visible on screen in ‘Aap Ki Izzat’.
The veteran actor concluded his message by congratulating Ahsan Khan for his remarkable performance, saying he continues to prove that true acting is defined by talent and commitment not appearance alone.
