The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has imposed 10 percent withholding tax (WHT) on all wedding halls in Karachi, reported 4NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
President of Wedding Halls Association Rana Raees held a detailed meeting with officials of FBR during which it was decided that 10 percent withholding tax will be levied on wedding halls in Karachi.
Rana Raees said that wedding hall owners will collect this tax from the parties. He further said that this decision was taken as per instructions of FBR officials.
Rana Raees said that owners of wedding halls will pay 10 percent withholding tax separately from the rent. He clarified that owners of wedding halls are not connected in this tax.
He urged the parties to keep in mind FBR policy at the time of booking of wedding halls.
