The Punjab School Education Department has released Rs20 billion to provide basic facilities in schools, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
According to Secretary Education Khalid Nazir Watto, the funds will be spent on additional classrooms, science labs, boundary walls and basic facilities.
The Punjab Chief Minister has also approved the release of another Rs9 billion for the construction of furniture and tech labs.
The funds will help improve the infrastructure of government schools.
Tech labs will be built on 5 marla land in the first phase from the funds.
Upgradation of science labs and provision of equipment and chemicals will be met from the non-salary budget.
