Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has decided to include brilliant students from other provinces in the Honhaar Scholarship Programme, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

During a meeting held in Lahore, CM Maryam gave approval of the Scholarship scheme for the students of other provinces. CM Maryam increased the number of laptops for students to 110,000. She also directed the establishment of a special helpline for scholarship-related inquiries.

CM Maryam said that education and youth were the assets of the nation. “I wish every child could receive a laptop. The Honhaar Scholarship Programme and laptops are the right of every student and the responsibility of the government,” she added.

She emphasised that students from Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were also their children. “I think like a mother. We want to change the destiny of every child. Any student securing merit should apply to a good college, and the government will bear the fees,” she said. CM Maryam ordered the establishment of a special helpline for students under the scholarship and laptop scheme. Additionally, Punjab set a minimum eligibility criterion of 65% marks to obtain a laptop.
