Apple is set to introduce its most affordable new iPhone of the year in the coming days, with reports suggesting the iPhone 17e could be unveiled as early as February, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.

Earlier, the budget-friendly model was widely expected to be launched in the spring.

However, a new report has claimed that Apple plans to announce the iPhone 17e in February instead.

According to a Macwelt report, citing sources familiar with the matter, the device is likely to be introduced on February 19.

The timeline would not be unprecedented, as Apple unveiled the iPhone 16e on February 19, 2025.

The report said the iPhone 17e will feature MagSafe support, enabling wireless charging speeds of up to 25 watts, a notable upgrade, as this feature was absent from the iPhone 16e.

Another report suggested that the overall design of the new device will closely resemble last year’s iPhone 16e.

According to the same report, the iPhone 17e will not include the Dynamic Island design for the front camera, retaining a more traditional display layout.

In terms of performance, the device is expected to be powered by Apple’s new A19 chip.

It is also likely to feature a second-generation Apple C1x modem along with the N1 wireless network chip.

Other specifications and features are expected to remain largely similar to those of the iPhone 16e.

If confirmed, the early launch would strengthen Apple’s push in the budget smartphone segment, offering updated hardware and improved charging capabilities at a more accessible price point.
