A private university in Lahore has taken measures to prevent suicide attempts on campus by installing safety nets across all buildings, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday.
The university administration said the safety nets are designed to stop individuals from jumping from floors, providing a physical safeguard while also helping address mental health concerns.
The technology and methodology were adopted from Singaporean universities, where similar nets have been successfully used to reduce the rising number of suicide cases among students.
University spokesperson Imran Yunus emphasized that the initiative reflected the institution’s commitment to student safety and well-being.
