Special team formed to probe killing of mother, three children found dead in Karachi manhole

Police have constituted a special investigation team to carry out a transparent and comprehensive probe into the killing of a woman and her three children, whose bodies were recovered from a dry manhole near Mai Kolachi, officials said on Tuesday.

The special investigation team was formed on the orders of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Asad Raza in view of the sensitive nature of the case.

According to the notification, the team will be headed by the Superintendent of Police (SP) Investigation Kemari.

The team will comprise a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), three inspectors and a sub-inspector.

It has been directed to investigate the murders from all possible angles and determine the real motives and facts behind the incident.

Police officials said the team would also focus on tracing any remaining suspects who may have been involved in the gruesome crime. The investigation team has been granted the authority to seek assistance from any officer posted in the South Zone as and when required.

The special team has been instructed to submit daily progress reports on the investigation to senior officers, ensuring close monitoring of the case and timely developments.
