Catherine, Princess of Wales, has completed the National Three Peaks Challenge, climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours while continuously hiking about 23 miles (approximately 37 km).
The challenge was undertaken to raise funds for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and to inspire people living with cancer or cancer survivors.
The challenge involved climbing Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), completing one of Britain's toughest endurance tests. The princess issued a statement following her achievement, saying the challenge symbolized hope, strength and recovery for cancer patients and their families.
Having undergone cancer treatment herself, Kate said the challenge reflected the strength people discover during and after illness while highlighting the importance of support throughout the recovery journey.
The Princess was welcomed at the finish line by her husband, Prince William, their children, Prince George of Wales, Princess Charlotte of Wales and Prince Louis of Wales, along with other family members.
