The Punjab Bar Council (PbBC) officially dismissed the enrolment section in-charge, Javed Salehri, after an inquiry proved his involvement in issuing fake lawyer registrations, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday.
According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Bar Council, the action was taken with the approval of Executive Committee Chairman Fakhar Hayat Awan.
The council said it would not compromise on the integrity of the legal profession or the credibility of the institution.
Fakhar Hayat Awan said the Punjab Bar Council is strictly implementing a zero-tolerance policy against fake lawyers and will not allow anyone to violate the law or the council's rules and regulations.
He warned that if any employee of the Punjab Bar Council is found involved in facilitating fake lawyers or fraudulent enrolments, strict legal as well as departmental action will be taken without discrimination.
