Xiaomi Redmi K90 Ultra has officially debuted in China, grabbing attention with an unusual feature—a built-in cooling fan designed to keep the phone cool during gaming and other demanding tasks.
The new performance-focused smartphone features an aluminum body and a cooling fan built into the rear panel. According to the company, the fan operates at a noise level as low as 32dB and can reduce the phone's temperature by up to 10°C in just 100 seconds. It also carries IPX8 and IPX9 ratings for water resistance, while the phone itself is rated IP66, IP68 and IP69 for durability.
The Redmi K90 Ultra sports a 6.83-inch 1.5K display with a 165Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits, making it suitable for gaming as well as video streaming.
Powering the device is Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite, paired with a dedicated D2 graphics chip, LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage to deliver flagship-level performance.
One of the phone's biggest highlights is its massive 8,850mAh battery, which supports 100W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. The large battery is expected to comfortably last a full day of heavy use.
For photography, the Redmi K90 Ultra includes a 50MP main camera with optical and electronic image stabilization, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 20MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
The smartphone is available in Shadow Black, Space Silver and Sky Blue. In China, the base 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant starts at CNY 2,999, or approximately Rs41,800.
The Xiaomi Redmi K90 Ultra is aimed primarily at gamers and power users who need a device capable of handling intensive tasks such as gaming and video editing. However, those looking for a more versatile camera system may want to consider alternatives from brands such as OPPO and Vivo.
