In a display of deep-rooted brotherly ties, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Friday warmly received Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at Mina Palace during the latter’s official visit to the Kingdom, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The two leaders exchanged heartfelt Eid al-Azha greetings and engaged in meaningful discussions on strengthening the historical relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
According to official sources, the meeting centred around bolstering cooperation in various sectors, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to expanding ties across political, economic, and cultural domains.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed keen interest in furthering collaboration, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s support and hospitality.
The Prime Minister also attended a special lunch hosted by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as a special guest at the Royal Court.
The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia gave a special welcome to the Prime Minister and personally drove the Prime Minister to attend the lunch.
The Saudi Crown Prince warmly welcomed Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the lunch, and informal talks were held between the two leaders.
The lunch was attended by important leaders from the Middle East, including members of the Saudi cabinet and senior Saudi civil and military leadership.
The visit, undertaken on the special invitation of the Crown Prince, also carried significant spiritual undertones.
On Thursday night, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and a high-level delegation, performed Umrah in Makkah.
In a rare gesture of honour, the doors of the Holy Kaaba were opened for the Pakistani delegation. Special Nawafil were offered inside the sacred site, where prayers of gratitude were made for Pakistan’s economic progress and public welfare milestones, attributed to what the officials termed the success of “Bunyan-um-Marsoos.”
Heartfelt supplications were also made for the oppressed people of Kashmir and Palestine, reflecting Pakistan’s consistent stance on Muslim solidarity.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar were among the key members of the delegation accompanying the Prime Minister during this significant diplomatic and spiritual journey.
