The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has issued a travel advisory urging tourists and other visitors to avoid travelling to the valley from June 5 to June 20 due to concerns over possible disruptions linked to planned protest activities, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.
According to an official statement, visitors from across the country have been advised to postpone non-essential travel to Azad Kashmir during the advisory period.
The government said the measure has been taken to protect travellers from potential inconvenience and unexpected situations that may arise in different parts of the area.
The advisory comes amid a protest call announced for June 9 by the Joint Awami Action Committee, which authorities fear could disrupt traffic on major highways and at entry and exit points across the territory.
The government has also requested tourists and other individuals currently visiting Azad Kashmir for sightseeing, business or personal purposes to leave the region during the advisory period to avoid possible difficulties.
Officials said that travellers, residents and transport operators should follow instructions issued by the relevant authorities and stay updated through official announcements regarding the evolving situation.
