A massive fire broke out in Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) in Karachi on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to details, the fire erupted in the air-conditioned room of the hospital. All the medical staff and patients ran away in a bid to save themselves from the blaze.
A spokesman of JPMC, Dr. Waqas, said that the hospital’s machinery was partially damaged due to the fire, but no loss of life was reported from the site.
On May 8, 2026, a comprehensive fire safety and disaster preparedness workshop was held at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where citizens, medical staff, and representatives from various institutions received hands-on training in emergency response and fire prevention techniques. The awareness event included a live disaster drill.
Experts from Rescue 1122 demonstrated emergency procedures in case of fire outbreaks, guiding participants on evacuation protocols, immediate response measures, and safe handling of fire incidents using extinguishers.
