The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering a major restructuring of the national team's management, with former captains Younis Khan and Mohammad Hafeez expected to be given prominent roles, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.
According to sources familiar with the development, former captain Younis Khan is being considered for the position of head coach of Pakistan's Test team.
He is also likely to be included in the national selection committee as part of a broader effort to strengthen the team's cricketing structure.
Meanwhile, former all-rounder and captain Mohammad Hafeez is reportedly being considered for the role of Director of Cricket International at the PCB.
Sources added that he may also be assigned responsibilities within the national selection committee.
The sources added current Test team coach, Sarfaraz Ahmed, could be removed from his role, although he is expected to continue working with the Pakistan Shaheens setup.
Sources further indicated that Test captain Shan Masood may also be replaced as part of the anticipated overhaul.
