A delegation from the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) met with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb to discuss the pressing challenges faced by the textile sector, including high taxation and costly utilities.
During the meeting, APTMA Chairman Kamran Arshad briefed the finance minister on the industry's concerns, emphasizing that heavy taxes and expensive electricity and gas were severely impacting production and exports.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb acknowledged the textile industry's critical role in Pakistan’s economy and assured the delegation that the government was committed to resolving their concerns. He stated that consultations with textile industry stakeholders would continue, and efforts would be made to address policy hurdles and improve business conditions.
