The people of Karachi should get prepared for soaring temperatures as the weather department, while issuing an alert on Thursday, said that daytime temperatures in the port city would begin to rise from today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to the 24News TV channel, Meteorologist Anjum Nazir said that temperatures in the city would increase by two to three degrees, and would fluctuate between 36 degrees Celsius and 38 degrees Celsius for the next few days.
However, the meteorologist said that the weather would turn pleasant on March 12 as westerly winds would start blowing on that day and keep temperatures in check.
“Still, the residents of the city will keep yearning for rains,” he predicted.
A couple of days ago, the Met Office had said that the city’s temperature remained 6.3 degrees Celsius below the city’s average during March.
The usual average temperature for the month stands at 19.4°C, while last night’s minimum temperature was recorded at 13.1°C.
On Tuesday, night-time temperatures across various parts of Karachi remained below normal.
Mauripur recorded the lowest temperature at 10°C, followed by Jinnah Terminal at 11.5°C, Port Qasim at 13.6°C, Gulistan-e-Johar at 13.2°C, and Sharea Faisal at 12.5°C.
