Following the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Medical Superintendent (MS) Mayo Hospital Dr Faisal Masood and CEO Ahsen Noman have been removed from their posts after lots of public complaints against them, reported 24NewesHD TV Channel.
Professor Hamid Haroon has been appointed new CEO of Mayo Hospitalwhile Dr Ahtesham-ul-Haq has been appointed as MS of the hospital.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered the immediate removal of Medical Superintendent (MS) Mayo Hospital from his post after public piled up complaints against him. During Punjab Chief Minister’s visit of Mayo Hospital in Lahore on Thursday, the patients amassed complaints against hospital administration for lack of health facilities.
On public complaints, the Chief Minister expressed anger and strongly reprimanded the Mayo Hospital administration.
Talking on the occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said the public is facing problems but no one is going to ask the responsible.
Maryam Nawaz said the conditions of Mayo Hospital is very bad. People come to the hospital with the expectation and hope of treatment, Maryam Nawaz said. She said the hospital administration has no idea what is happening in every ward.
“What is happening to the public, if it happens to the people of those responsible, they will know,” Maryam Nawaz said.
She said why should the public be punished for someone's mismanagement?
Maryam Nawaz Sharif said patients and relatives under treatment at Mayo Hospital told about not getting even syringes etc.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif stopped and listened to the complaints of patients and relatives standing in the waiting room and on the way.
A girl said her mother is sick and she tired of running around all night for medicines on which Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was very angry after hearing the innocent girl's words.
Chief Minister Maryam called an emergency meeting at Mayo Hospital during her visit.
She ordered immediate steps to pay the dues of medicines and directed to ensure 100 percent supply of medicines at Mayo Hospital.
Maryam Nawaz directed the Secretary Health to identify those responsible and take action. She sought a comprehensive plan for the construction and repair of Mayo Hospital.
Maryam Nawaz checked the supply of medicines, syringes and other items in the store. She also reviewed the emergency block, TB and Chest, ICU Cardiology and other wards of Mayo Hospital.
Maryam Nawaz visited the patients undergoing treatment in the wards, prayed for their speedy recovery. She stopped at various places to listen to the complaints and problems of the people.
Maryam Nawaz listened to the complaints of a couple who came from Sindh and directed for immediate redressal.
The chief minister inquired about the complete details of the treatment from the patients and the attendants. She observed the treatment process of the patients in the wards.
Maryam Nawaz reviewed the cleanliness situation in different wards of the hospital.

Mayo Hospital blames MS, AMS and pharmacists for non-availability of medicines.
Meanwhile, Specialized Health Department suspended three pharmacists and technicians including AMS emergency of Mayo Hospital for non-availability of medicines in emergency.
The department also issued warning to MS Dr. Faisal Masood and Chief Drug Controller Javed Iqbal.
According to sources, Mayo Hospital is defaulting on over Rs3 billion in medicine arrears.
Mayo Hospital is also facing severe shortage of life-saving medicines for a year.
The Specialized Health Department blamed MS, AMS emergency and pharmacists for non-availability of medicines.
Sources said that funds were sought from Specialized Health Department to pay medicine arrears saying hospital is faces severe shortage of medicines due to non-availability of funds for arrears.
Before the Chief Minister's visit, the Specialized Health Department blamed the administration for non-availability of medicines.
