The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has held the inaugural meeting of the Sukkur Greenfield Airport project, formally launching the feasibility and design phase of the proposed facility.
The meeting was chaired by Director General PAA, Air Vice Marshal Zeeshan Saeed, and attended by senior officials including Deputy DG Works and Development Sameer Saeed and Director Planning and Development Ghulam Abbas Sheikh. International consultants from Germany and the United Kingdom also participated, reflecting the project’s technical scope and global collaboration.
According to the PAA, the session brought together a wide range of stakeholders, including representatives from the business community, district administration, and various sectors with aviation and infrastructure development. Participants expressed strong support for the project, highlighting its potential to enhance regional connectivity.
Speaking at the meeting, DG PAA Zeeshan Saeed described the initiative as a key milestone, noting that the Sukkur Greenfield Airport is expected to contribute significantly to regional economic growth and tourism promotion.
Officials termed the meeting an important step forward, with broad-based participation underscoring the strategic importance of the project for the region.
