Iran has reportedly maintained control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz after its navy stopped a United States warship from advancing towards the area, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wedensday.
The report stated that Iranian naval forces intercepted the American vessel and warned it against moving forward, cautioning that any further advance could lead to an attack.
Earlier in the day, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mohammad Mokhber, issued a clear message to the United States, saying that the Strait of Hormuz would not be opened without Iran’s approval.
He rejected demands reportedly made by former US President Donald Trump regarding the reduction of Iran’s missile capabilities, calling them baseless.
Mokhber said that Iran was standing firm against the United States as a rising global power, signalling continued resistance to external pressure.
The situation reflects ongoing tensions in the region, where control over the Strait of Hormuz remains a critical geopolitical issue due to its importance for global oil shipping.
