In a second reported incident of a wife’s murder by her husband, a man allegedly shot his spouse and disposed of her body in a canal in Faisalabad, police said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in village Chak 280 within the jurisdiction of Dijkot police station. According to initial reports, the accused, identified as Arshad, shot his wife before throwing her body into a nearby canal.
Police said the suspect informed his brother-in-law about the crime nearly 24 hours later. Acting on the information, authorities recovered the victim’s body from the canal.
The accused fled the scene following the incident. A search operation has been launched to apprehend him, while further investigation is underway.
