One dacoit was gunned down, and two others were arrested in an injured condition during two police encounters in Karachi and Larkana, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Wednesday.
The first police encounter took place in Larkana in which a dacoit who was later identified as Sonu alias Bukhsh Abro was killed.
Police said that Sonu alias Bukhsh Abro was involved in the attack on the Bakapur Police Post and the murder of policeman Mushtaq Teno on October 27.
Police recovered a large quantity of bullets and one Kalashnikov from the possession of the dead dacoit.
Another police encounter occurred in Karachi in which three dacoits who were riding a motorcycle opened fire on a police team in the jurisdiction of Zaman Town Police Station in Korangi No. 4 Sector 50.
During heavy exchange of fire, two dacoits who were later identified as Azhar Ali alias Asad and Mohammad Amir were arrested in an injured condition.
Police recovered two 30-bore pistols alongwith rounds from his custody.
In initial investigation, it was revealed that both dacoits committed various criminals activities and CCTV footage of many incidents is also surfaced.
Zaman Town police is collecting criminal record of the dacoits. Later, a police team shifted the injured dacoits to Jinnah Hospital for treatment.
Three bodies recovered from canals in Khairpur
Three dead bodies were found from different canals of Khairpur. The dead body of one woman was found from Faiz Gang Regulator canal. Another dead body was flowing with water in Nau Lakhi Canal.
The police reached the spot after four hours. Later, the police took custody of all the dead bodies and shifted them to local hospital for autopsy to determine real cause of the deaths.
