American Consul General Christine K Hawkins met Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi on Thursday.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, issues of mutual interest, measures to cement bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation in various fields came under discussion during the meeting.
The US diplomat praised the CM for adopting measures for the restoration and renovation of historical buildings, especially religious places.
“The Punjab government is doing valuable work to preserve the religious and cultural heritage,” she said.
She added the US will further promote cooperation with the Punjab government in various fields.
The chief minister said the constitution of Pakistan guarantees the protection of human rights. A comprehensive plan has been prepared for the restoration of religious and historical buildings, he said.
