Federal Information Minister Murtaza Solangi Thursday said that the election will be held in January and the date will be announced when the time comes.
He made this remark on 24News HD TV Channel in response to the proposal to hold the election in March 2024. He also said in a light mood that March is not a month for elections but the month of the long march.
Anyhow, many things could happen at any time like falling Meteorites and no one among us remained alive, he added.
The Information Minister said that the government was committed to providing financial and security resources to the Election Commission to ensure free and fair elections.
He said that Pakistan was a democratic country and respected the freedom of expression and political rights of all parties.
Murtaza Solangi said that if any party had any grievances or criticisms, they had the right to voice them.
He also said that the army chief and the government were working together to solve the economic problems of the country and that more steps would be taken soon to boost economic development.
He said that the government's goal was to hand over a better country to the elected representatives.
He also clarified that the government would only take action against illegal foreigners living in Pakistan and that the rights of legal foreigners, especially Afghans, would be protected.
