Hundreds of students on Monday failed to appear in the matric mathematics examination being taken by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV reported.
A candidate of the matriculation examination said that the entrance gates of the examination hall at Lawrence Road were closed at 9 am, as the math paper was scheduled to start as per the timetable.
Parents of the candidates said that their children were late due to the heavy rain started last night and continued in the morning disrupting routine life in Lahore.
They suggested that candidates should be granted five minutes extra time to reach the examination hall in case of emergency.
They feared that the denial of entry to students would risk losing whole year’s hard work.
On the other hand, the Board officials said that the Board fixed 8 am reporting time for appearing in the annual examinations.
The Board officials further revealed that after 9 am, no student will be allowed to enter the examination hall.
