The Lahore High Court has extended the stay order over sugar pricing on Tuesday, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.
The sugar mills challenged the Punjab government's notification to fix sugar prices. Additional Advocate General Samia Khalid submitted the Punjab government’s reply to the court while the federal government bought time on the matter. The matter of the formation of a member bench referred to the chief justice.
The sugar price has been going sky high. The people have been making a litany of complaints against the price hike but to no avail. The Punjab government has been gearing up to challenge the stay so that the commodity cost could be brought under control.
