Sindh Provincial Minister for Irrigation Jam Khan Shoro, Provincial Minister for Energy, Planning and Development Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Member of Provincial Assembly and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh Makhdoom Fakhar Zaman visited sensitive areas of the Indus River in Matiari District on Saturday to review flood situation, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel.
According to the details, Deputy Commissioner Matiari, Muhammad Yousaf Sheikh gave them detailed briefing on flood situation.
The deputy commissioner said that the administration's first priority was to ensure the safety of the lives and property of the public. So far, 5,875 people and more than 30,000 livestock have been moved to safe places from different areas of Kacha.
The deputy commissioner said that district administration has initially set up 12 relief camps, while 110 camps have also been identified in case of emergency situation but so far, no affected person has been moved to these camps as most people are staying with their relatives.
The provincial ministers expressed satisfaction with arrangements and said that the leadership of PPP and the entire machinery of Sindh government are active and the people will never be left alone. They also directed to immediately shift the people living in the river basin to safe places and that the floodwalls should be strictly monitored. Provincial ministers assured that the Sindh government would provide all possible assistance to the victims.
