State Bank of Pakistan's (SBP) foreign exchange reserves have decreased by $72 million after payment of external debt, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
According to the central bank press release, the State Bank’s reserves have dropped from $14.30 billion to $14.23 billion. The reserves of commercial banks decreased by $67 million, now standing at $5.23 billion.
As a result, Pakistan’s total foreign exchange reserves have declined from $19.60 billion to $19.49 billion. This decline reflects regular external debt servicing and adjustments in the banking sector's foreign currency holdings.
