PTI Punjab leader files defamation suit against CM, IGP

Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab Vice-President Akmal Khan Bari on Saturday filed defamation suit in sessions court against Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Dr Usman Anwar and other high-ranking police officials, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In his suit, Akmal Khan Bari demanded Rs13 billion as defamation amount from the above-mentioned persons. Advocate Khurram Latif Khosa represented the petitioner in the court.

In the plea, the petitioner stated that chief minister, IGP, CCPO Lahore, DIG Investigation arrested him illegally and without any reasonable grounds, and also violated orders of Lahore High Court (LHC).

Earlier, Akmal Khan Bari, was arrested by the police in Lahore on November 23. He has been transferred to Rang Mahal Police Station.
