Karachi authorities have recovered smuggled diesel valued at over Rs 140 million in a significant crackdown on illegal fuel trade, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to the report, the Enforcement Directorate conducted a precision operation in the open sea near Hingol National Park, targeting vessels engaged in high-speed diesel smuggling.
During the operation, officials seized three launches suspected of involvement in the illicit activity.
The crackdown is part of ongoing efforts to curb fuel smuggling along Pakistan’s southern coastline, which has increasingly threatened local markets and revenue collection.
Authorities stated that investigations into the origins and intended distribution of the seized diesel are underway.
Officials have vowed continued vigilance against similar illegal activities in the future.
