Sindh High Court has ordered to stop any further construction work going on in Al Janat Royal Residency in Garden West, Karachi during the hearing of an illegal construction case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
While hearing a case against encroachment and illegal construction, the Sindh High Court on Monday ordered to halt construction work in Al Janat Royal Residency. It directed the authorities to take action against the nine-storey building situated in Garden West and present a report within 45 days.
The court also stopped the leasing and sub-leasing of the building. It directed to snap electricity, water and gas connections to the building.
Besides this, the SHC ordered an action against builders and other persons involved in illegal construction and allotment.
In November last year, the Sindh High Court has ordered to evacuate the entire Makkah Terrace building in order to bulldoze the extra spaces illegally occupied by the builder. The court has also directed the builder to shift the residents of the complex to rented houses and bear the rent expenses himself.
In October last, the SHC issued orders to stop commercial use of the properties specified for defence purposes but allotted to the institutes and the people in Karachi. The court said in its orders that commercial use of Nueplex Cinemas in DHA Karachi, Falcon Mall at Shahrah-e-Faisal, Signature and Imperial banquet halls at Dalmia Road, Imtiaz Super Store in Zamzama, marriage halls in Askari-4, banquet halls in DHA Phase-7 and 8 should be stopped.
It also ordered to stop commercial use of all banquets established around the Karachi airport as such lands were lent to the Pak Army, navy and air force and other institutes for defence purposes only.
