The body of a nine-year-old Qadeer Mirani, who went missing three days ago, was recovered from an open sewer in Kandhkot on Saturday, 24NewsHD TV reported.
Officials and residents said the boy fell into the gutter, losing his life in the incident.
His death has plunged the family into grief and prompted widespread mourning across the city.
The residents blamed municipal authorities for negligence, saying open drains have become a serious hazard for children.
