The Election Tribunal in Faisalabad Saturday conducted a hearing on the appeal challenging the acceptance of nomination papers filed by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Abid Sher Ali, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
The tribunal, headed by Justice Asjad Javid Ghural took cognizance of the appeal filed by Muhammad Jahangir, urging a review of the decision to accept Abid Sher Ali's nomination.
The appellant, Muhammad Jahangir, is a voter from the constituency in question. His legal representative presented the case before the tribunal, raising concerns about the eligibility of Abid Sher Ali, who is contesting from NA-102 Faisalabad.
The petitioner observed that Abid Sher Ali is facing legal proceedings at the Factory Area Police Station in Faisalabad, but this information was omitted from his nomination papers.
Taking a serious stance, the Appellate Tribunal summoned the Returning Officer of Constituency NA-102 Faisalabad along with the records.
