In Bannu, unidentified terrorists kidnapped and later martyred a police constable from the jurisdiction of Domel Police Station, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
According to the local police, the body of the abducted policeman, Naveed Akram, was recovered from the Domel area and shifted to a nearby hospital.
Bannu Police have launched a search operation, though no arrests have been made until the filing of this report.
The incident comes a day after a powerful explosion flattened the office of former Tehsil Domel Nazim Malik Fida Muhammad Khan Wazir.
The blast occurred within the Domel police limits, raising concerns about possible casualties, though official confirmation was awaited.
Authorities said local residents had confronted suspected militants at the same office a day earlier, fuelling fears that the explosion may have been an act of retaliation.
A heavy police contingent secured the area and launched an investigation.
Meanwhile, in Lakki Marwat, Constable Saeed Khan, who had been critically injured during an operation against unknown suspects, succumbed to his wounds and embraced martyrdom at the hospital.
Security has been tightened across the region as investigations into both incidents continue.
