In a major move for rightsizing, the Punjab government has abolished 1,207 vacant posts in school education, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to details, 30,391 vacant posts in the school education department have been abolished. The posts that are abolished include baildar, chowkidar, naib qasid, laboratory assistant, and different non-teaching posts, laboratory attendant, junior clerk, senior clerk, stenographer, accountant, computer operator, driver, sweeper, librarian and assistant librarian.
The posts of assistant director of physical education, auditor, superintendent, deputy superintendent, and other posts are also included.
A notification has already been issued in this regard. The purpose of abolishing these posts is to decrease the financial burden.
