Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari successfully concluded a crucial diplomatic visit to the United States, aimed at countering India's growing war rhetoric and recent cross-border aggression, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Saturday.
According to the report, leading a nine-member parliamentary delegation, Bilawal arrived in New York on June 1, where the team held meetings with influential international figures, including diplomats, think tanks, and members of the Pakistani-American community.
The Pakistani delegation remained in the US until June 2, highlighting India’s unprovoked aggression last month and presenting Pakistan’s case for peace.
In a message posted on the social media platform X on Saturday, Bilawal stated, “Wrapped up an important peace mission leading Pakistan’s delegation in New York and Washington. Grateful to the entire team for their dedication — we stood for dialogue, dignity, and a just future.”
Earlier, in an exclusive interview with AFP, Bilawal revealed shocking details about the Indian missile incident, saying, “India fired missiles at Pakistan last month. Whether they were armed with nuclear warheads or not, Pakistan had just 30 seconds to decide. It was US President Donald Trump who helped de-escalate the dangerous standoff.”
He lauded Trump’s role in maintaining the ceasefire and urged the U.S. to play a proactive role in promoting dialogue between India and Pakistan.
Bilawal warned against the dangerous precedent India was trying to set in South Asia: “India is attempting to impose a ‘new normal’ where a terror attack means instant escalation. The fate of 1.7 billion people must not be left in the hands of nameless, faceless, non-state actors.”
He emphasised that South Asia needs peace, responsible leadership, and diplomacy, not a permanent state of hostility.
This diplomatic push has been seen as part of Pakistan’s broader efforts to mobilise international opinion against India's militaristic posture and highlight the need for sustained peace in the region.
