Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has extended heartfelt Eidul Azha greetings to the people of Pakistan and the entire Muslim Ummah, emphasising the occasion as a symbol of sacrifice, obedience, and compassion, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Saturday.
“Eid-ul-Adha is a profound reflection of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet Ismail (AS)'s unwavering obedience and submission to Allah's will,” said Naqvi in his message. “It teaches us the true meaning of sacrifice and selflessness.”
The Interior Minister called on the nation to celebrate Eid not only by performing religious rituals but also by embodying the true spirit of sacrifice, which includes subduing one's own desires for the greater good.
“Sacrifice is not limited to the ritual slaughter of animals. The real essence lies in sacrificing our personal egos and desires for the sake of Allah and the collective betterment of the country,” he added.
Naqvi encouraged the nation to spread joy, overcome hatred, and unite as a people. He emphasised that true patriotism requires the same spirit of selflessness that the nation has historically shown during struggles for truth and justice.
“Let us remember and honour the sacrifices of our armed forces, the martyrs, and their families, whose courage and unity have written a golden chapter in our national history,” he said.
The Minister also called for generosity toward orphans, the poor, and the underprivileged on this joyous occasion, urging citizens to include them in their happiness and thereby earn the pleasure of Allah.
In a strong expression of solidarity, Naqvi remembered the oppressed people of Palestine and Indian-occupied Kashmir, stating that they remain at the centre of our prayers and fraternal sentiments.
“I pray this Eid brings peace, mercy, and blessings for the entire Muslim Ummah,” he concluded.
