PM Shehbaz allocates portfolios to new ministers and advisers

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has allocated portfolio to the newly-appointed ministers and advisers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the notification issued by the PM House on Friday, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry was allotted ministry of parliamentary affairs and Talal Chaudhry will be state minister for interior.

The prime minister has withdrawn religious affairs portfolio from Chaudhry Salik Hussain and given it to Sardar Yousuf.

Similarly, petroleum ministry was taken away from Musadik Malik and was allotted to Ali Pervaiz Malik. Musadik now got climate change portfolio.

Rana Mubashar Iqbal is the new federal minister for public affairs while Shaza Fatima named as federal minister for IT and Telecommunication.

Muhammad Raza Hayat Haraj has been allotted ministry for defence production, which was earlier held by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif.

Muhammad Mueen Wattoo was given water resources portfolio, and Muhammad Junaid Anwar got maritime affairs ministry.

Khalid Magsi named as minister of science and technology, and Hanif Abbasi was allocated the portfolio of Railways.

Aurangzeb Khan Khichi is the federal minister for national heritage while Syed Mustafa Kamal was given national health services portfolio.

Maritime Affairs ministry was withdrawn from Qaisar Ahmad Sheikh who will now be the federal minister of investment board.

Awn Chaudhry has now become federal minister for overseas Pakistanis. Aqeel Malik got law and justice portfolio. Khail Das is the new state minister for religious affairs.

Portfolios of special assistants and advisers

Haroon Akhtar is appointed as special assistant on industry and production, Huzaifa Rehman national culture and heritage, Mubarak Zeb tribal affairs, Talha Burki political affairs.

Tauqeer Hussain Shah was appointed as PM Adviser on Prime Minister Office, Muhammad Ali adviser on privatization and Pervaiz Khattak adviser on interior affairs. 

PM Shehbaz Sharif had expanded his federal cabinet over a week ago by inducting 27 new members, bringing the total strength to 46. The new members included 13 federal ministers, 11 ministers of state, and three advisers.

The oath-taking ceremony was held at Aiwan-e-Sadar, where President Asif Ali Zardari administered the oath in the presence of PM Shehbaz.

New federal ministers included Hanif Abbasi, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Mustafa Kamal, Ali Parvez, Shaza Fatima, Khalid Magsi, and Raza Hayat Hiraj. Among the 11 state ministers were Barrister Aqeel Malik, Talal Chaudhry, Bilal Kayani, and Wajiha Qamar. The three newly-appointed advisers were Muhammad Ali, Tauqir Shah, and Pervez Khattak.

The cabinet expansion came nearly a year after PM Shehbaz Sharif assumed office.
