Amid divorce proceedings and swirling affair allegations against Tamil actor and TVK chief Vijay, his close friend and fellow actor Sriman has come forward to defend him, highlighting Vijay’s kind-hearted nature.

Last week, Vijay’s wife Sangeeta Sornalingam filed for divorce at a Chennai court, claiming he was involved in an extramarital relationship with an unnamed actress.

Rumors quickly pointed to actress Trisha Krishnan, especially after the two were spotted together at a wedding in Chennai.

In the midst of online backlash, Sriman took to X (formerly Twitter) to defend Vijay’s character. Responding to a user suggesting Vijay and Trisha “might just be friends,” Sriman used a clapping emoji, seemingly agreeing.

He also shared unseen pictures of himself and Vijay jet-skiing during a film shoot, recounting Vijay’s thoughtful gesture: “There was only one safe life jacket… he wanted me to be safe, no one on set liked what he did, but that is his heart. Avar appadithaan (that’s how he is).”

Sriman further slammed online criticism, calling out “faceless” social media comments and insisting people should respect Vijay’s privacy. “Why should we think about it? It is their personal life. In court, the law will answer. Let’s read that and know,” he wrote.

A seasoned actor, Sriman has appeared alongside Vijay in numerous films including Love Today (1997), Friends (2001), Vaseegara (2003), Pokkiri (2007), Villu (2009), Master (2021), and Varisu (2023), cementing a long-standing personal and professional bond.

Sriman’s defense emphasizes Vijay’s loyalty and kindness, while urging fans and netizens to refrain from spreading unverified allegations about his personal life.
