A special and vibrant segment of the Ramadan transmission “Noor-i-Ramzan” featured distinguished guests from Uzbekistan, highlighting cultural exchange, tourism opportunities and the shared spirit of Ramadan between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
The program welcomed Rovshan Alimov, Deputy Head of Mission and Political Counsellor at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. He attended the transmission along with his wife Khilola Alimova and their son Mirza Akbar Alimov, a 10th-grade student at Future World School & College in Islamabad.
Also present on the occasion was Chaudhry Hamid Mahmood, Brand Ambassador of Uzbekistan Tourism in Pakistan and representative of the Ministry of Tourism of Uzbekistan in Pakistan.
During the special Ramadan segment, the Uzbek envoy discussed the importance of mutual cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, particularly in the fields of travel, hospitality and heritage tourism. He highlighted the deep historical and spiritual links between the two countries that date back to the Silk Road era.
The envoy emphasized that promoting tourism can encourage Pakistani travelers to explore Uzbekistan’s rich Islamic heritage, historic shrines and beautiful cities, while also welcoming Uzbek visitors to experience Pakistan’s culture and hospitality.
Speaking on the occasion, Rovshan Alimov shared insights into Ramadan traditions in Uzbekistan, including the importance of community gatherings, charity and spiritual reflection. He also spoke about the significance of ziyarat in Uzbekistan and introduced viewers to famous shrines and historic sites that attract pilgrims and tourists from around the world.
The envoy further highlighted popular tourist destinations in Uzbekistan, opportunities for students and the country’s rich culinary traditions.
Adding a unique cultural touch to the program, Rovshan Alimov personally prepared traditional Uzbek dishes during the transmission, including Uzbek Beef Pulao (Plov) and Uzbek Samsa, along with other iftar delicacies such as Halva, a sweet made from flour, sugar, butter and sometimes nuts that is commonly served with tea. He and his family expressed great pleasure in participating in the Noor-i-Ramzan Iftar transmission and sharing Uzbekistan’s culture and cuisine with Pakistani audiences.
After the program, the envoy and his family joined the Noor-i-Ramzan team for an iftar dinner. The guests were warmly received by Producer Programming Nadeem Anjum and members of the Noor-i-Ramzan team, including Ali Afzal, Imran Khan, Ali NK and the host Fiza Ali, who expressed gratitude for the distinguished guests’ participation and culinary presentation.
