Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said Indian attack on Neelum-Jhelum Dam is a serious matter, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel.
Talking to media, Khawaja Asif made it clear that Pakistan will give a befitting response to India. He said after the Indian attack, the overall situation remains serious and disturbing. He expressed concerns that the conflict may escalate further. Defence Minister stated that the National Security Committee (NSC) has authorized the Pakistan Army to respond effectively to India’s recent aggression. He affirmed that the armed forces will formulate a strong and appropriate strategy to counter the attack.
Khawaja Asif said, "Pakistan Army has already delivered a fitting response last night. Modi now has no viable options left." He added that Pakistan military has specifically targeted an Indian military camps and civilian areas across India. He further says that India attacked 6 to 7 different places without any credible justification.
The Minister said, “there were neither military bases nor terrorist hideouts at the targeted sites." The NSC also urged the international community to take serious notice of India’s unlawful actions and hold it accountable for violating international laws.
In the end, he said that while Pakistan cannot disclose its full strategy at this point, the country’s defense will be strong and in the national interest.
