Asad Qaiser, ex-senator Mushtaq visit Fazl's residence

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) President Maulana Fazlur Rehman received a series of visits and messages of condolence from political leaders following the assassination of Maulana Idrees. The meetings also focused on the country’s political and security situation.

Former National Assembly speaker and PTI central leader Asad Qaiser visited the residence of Maulana Fazlur Rehman and offered condolences over the murder of Maulana Idrees. Fateha was offered and prayers were made for the forgiveness and elevation of the late scholar’s rank.

During the meeting, the two leaders also discussed the prevailing political situation in the country and expressed concern over the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Meanwhile, KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi telephoned Maulana Fazlur Rehman and expressed grief over the martyrdom of Sheikh Idrees. The chief minister prayed for the elevation of the deceased’s rank and assured the JUI chief of the early arrest of those responsible for the killing, as well as full cooperation from the provincial government.

Separately, former senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan visited the residence of Maulana Fazlur Rehman to offer condolences over the killing of Maulana Idrees.

During the meeting, Fateha was offered and prayers were held for the departed scholar. The two leaders also discussed the country’s political situation, while Mushtaq Ahmad Khan briefed Maulana Fazlur Rehman on the latest developments in Palestine.

JUI leaders Maulana Atta-ur-Rehman, central spokesperson Aslam Ghauri and Senator Maulana Atta-ul-Haq Darwesh were also present during the meetings.
